Question:
I am a Bnei Noach and have been for over a year. I am seriously considering converting to Judaism in the future, I am only 16 at present. I was wondering because I am confused, what are Bnei Noach allowed and not allowed to study and how do you know this? I have had about 5 different answers as to what I'm allowed to study and as I don't know where people are getting this information from (although they all claim to be Rabbis) I don't know who is right! I would appreciate your help! Thank you, Shalom
Answer:
Bnei Noach should study the 7 laws of noach and those ideas which surround them. This is not an excuse to delve into Talmud, Kabbalah and the like. Those encouraging this study are simply wrong.

Question:
Shalom Shalom Reb Moshe,
I was asked by a friend who has just recently become a Noahide, if they are required to observe any requirements of charity to either Jews or non-Jews, and if they don't show tzadakah is there a "punishment". I am Jewish, and know what Hashem requires of me, but had no idea how to answer this person. My common sense says that All mankind should give to others whether Jew or Gentile if they are able and there is a need, and for me personally, at this time of Purim, as a Jew, to my Jewish brothers and sisters who need help.

Answer:
bnei noach would not have to give the required 10% charity that Jews are but to become a good person, one should always be charitatble.

Question:
Reb Moshe,
you had asked me to help you look into what is

available for noahide people today. Here are some

links for you to go through.
Answer:
from the little i see from these links, it is

like you said, everything is very dispersed and

not organized. It would need thousands in

advertising to work just to get everyone in one

spot. I also get the feeling that nobody is

working together and outside Ephraim, there would

be no support. I would have to go through the

boards and pick people out to get involved. I

thought the numbers were a lot higher.

Question:
I was catholic as a child but am interested in converting to the Jewish religion. My Jewish friends that come to visit me are trying to teach me some, but the have not an extra Torah I could read.
Answer:

Then I think you should learn the books about benei noah, sons of noah. There are 7 laws, mitzvos given to non Jews to keep and they receive the next world from it.

Question:
As a follower of the 7 laws of Noach I
understand the need for every Jew
to follow the Torah, and the need for every
gentile to follow the 7 laws.

I have an extremely good friend of mine and I
really care about him, and
we trust eachother a lot, and he's considered a
non-religious Jew. (He is
Jewish... through his mother) Now, do I have
the "right" or "obligation"
to encourage him to follow Judaism the way the
Orthodox preach? I'm really
curious to hear from you, thanks in advance!

Answer:

This is my understanding and i have seen bnei

noach followers even bring
dozens of Jews back. Go for it!

Subject:7 laws not enough for me
Question:
I am also in need of of your advice and direction. In the last email I recieved from you, you said that I should look into the Seven Noahide Laws, and that if I explored them my entire life, that it would light up my eyes.

My question is this. I looked up these laws, but if I feel in my heart that these are not enough, what if I feel the desire within me to live more of a spiritually rich life?

Answer:
Joshua, these questions only you can answer but don't underestimate the greatness of the 7 laws. Don't underestimate their deepness and you can learn them all in 40 ways each.

Do you hold by Messianic Rabbi's. I see a lot of them on youtube and other places.
Answer:
most of the people in messianic synagoges or movement are 0% jewish, even their rabbi's. It is like a joke to most Jews. Reform, Converavive, orhtodox judaism, chassidic, anything is better then messanic which doesn't even believe in the 10 commandments

Subject:Christian and Jewish communities
Question:
Dear Rebbe Moshe,

Being that you are a learned Hasidic Jew, and given what I've seen from your videos, I was hoping you could tell me of a Rabbi's work, highly respected in the Jewish community, who has written a highly-influencial book in regards to Jewish ethics and practicing the Law, whether it be modern use of the Law or otherwise.

As I plan to pursue religious studies at the Quaker school, George Fox University, I think it's important to touch up on Christianity's Tanakh-Torah roots, and I find Rabbis to be much more knowledgeable in terms of Torah rather than Christian hierarchy.

The idea of there being a Rabbi revered over the rest is a far-fetched idea, but any Rabbinical literature held in high regard in, at least, the Israeli or Tzfat(peace to the Holy Land) community would be useful.

I hope we can set aside the petty difference that have sprung up in Christian and Jewish communities over the last centuries and help each other gain a higher understanding of G-d, Who is the center of both of our loves.

Peace and blessings from Texas,
Jeremiah Pike
