Question:
Dear Reb Moshe,
I HAVE BEEN READING YOUR WEB PAGES FOR SOME TIME AND HAVE COME TO KNOW A BIT OF YOUR SOUL.
I AM A JEWISH MAN WHO IS STARTING THE AYILA PROCESS AND FOUND I NEED A LETTER STATING THAT I AM ELIGIBLE UNDER THE RIGHT OF RETURN. I HAVE MANY DOCUMENTS THAT ATTEST TO MY FAMILY BEING JEWISH BUT NOTHING FROM A RABBINC AUTHORITY.
Answer:
I can't state you are Jewish unless I saw proof from your mothers side but as far as getting a letter, I think they are trying to scare most people. I belive you can go to any Rabbi (who has a synagoge letterhead) to get this letter and give it to them. After-all, well... I best not say more...

Question:
When we permit our community to define our days and our lifestyle and our passion, we really are sacrificing significant independent development---we do not grow uniquely---we’ll never find our promised one-of-a-kind destiny!. It results in a “cookie-cutter world,” in which we look to the community for answers because, G-d knows, we, personally, don’t have them!
Answer:
To a certain extend this is true but on the other hand, if we do not live by a certain standard that a larger community sets, we wouldn't fulfill our true potential as it will be a free for all. WE have to have a higher standard that we live by and most people can't set that for themselves and stick to it. People thrive off one another's strengths in a community setting. It is our job to take our individuality and add it to the community for everyone's benefit.

Subject:teshuvah
Question:
My question: Now when there is so much suffering and tragedies and we are in the threshold of moshiach, everyone is shouting we must do teshuvah, we must repent, that's the only way we will get saved, we must storm the heavens together, Hashem is waiting, and once we all do teshuvah the redemption will immediately come.
I have one small question- it all sounds so nice and inspirational, but practically how do you do teshuvah? What constitutes the phrase returning to out father in heaven?
How do you repent together as a nation? I don't see anyone doing it. (don't tell me the four steps- i know them)If you could please help me with an answer, I would get straight to business, be’ezras hashem. I don't want wait for the next tragedy to strike for me to hear the next cries of we must return, in repentâce
Thank You.
Answer:
Hashem wants Shalom. He wants a person to honor their father and mother. He wants families to come together and not to be apart. The only way the Jewish people can repent is when they come together as one nation. Every step towards spreading peace amongst the Jewish people is a huge step towards bringing Moshaich.
We must spread Love of Hashem, love of our neighbor and messages of peace. No longer should the Zionist and Anti-Zionists fight. No more should Religious and Non-Religious argue and feel uncomfortable with each other. We have to break the shell and look inside, seeing the good in another. Nothing and I mean nothing brings more light down to this world then we a person looks at others with a good eye. Just by passing any Jew in the street, you can think holy thoughts about them and raise them up. When Hillel said to the seeking convert, "The entire Torah is loving your fellow as yourself". he telling us the remedy for the final geula.
